#2: Why I'm finishing what I start.

And my first published Notion template.

Currently, I’m focusing on publishing more. Partly to continue building my personal brand, partly to get better at closing off the multitude of open projects I have.

This week, I’ve started working through my list of Notion templates, starting with Haiku journaling.

Now is the easiest time.

For the past 5 years, I’ve written one haiku every Saturday reflecting on my week. It’s the only journaling practice that I’ve been able to do consistently.

At the end of the year, I have 52 haikus to read back & reflect on.

It was a relatively simple template to create, which made it perfect for the first one to publish. This week, I’m aiming to publish another template & create a YouTube video talking through them.

It’s send o’clock.

I’m getting a lot more consistent at going roped climbing & bouldering each week. This week, I flashed (climbed on my first attempt) my first 6B top-rope route. It’s the green route in the corner, a technical stemming focused route.

In bouldering, I took an awkward fall at the top of a problem and managed to knee myself in the face.

No-one said that it would be all smooth sailing.

Let me be me.

Scar House Reservoir

Scar House Reservoir

Finding time to be in nature is important to me. On Sunday morning, I ventured up to Nidderdale and Scar House Reservoir.

It’s a stunning, snow-covered paradise. Unfortunately, it was too snow covered for what I was prepared for. So I turned back upon reaching sustained waist-deep snow.

Nevertheless, it was still a wonderful morning in the hills.

I’ve now visited Scar House twice. Both times, I’ve finished the route early because of adverse weather conditions. Maybe I’ll wait until summer to try again.
